Joint Urban Remote Sensing Event

Call for Papers

The JURSE conference is a a forum of excellence where researchers, practitioners, and students will present and discuss their latest findings and results. This event is committed to introduce innovative methodologies and technological resources recently employed to investigate the manifold aspects of the urban environment through orbital and airborne remote sensing data.

The workshop will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the TSTCC, the new on-campus convention centre of the EPFL, March 30-April 1, 2015.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • New data & sensors for urban area remote sensing
  • Structure detection and characterization in urban areas
  • Algorithms and techniques for remotely sensed data interpretation in urban areas
  • Algorithms and techniques for urban area applications
  • Urban climatology, geology, and geohazards
  • RS applications to social science
  • RS applications to urban planning and conservation
  • Urban development and growth pattern
  • Urban and peri-urban ecology

Paper submission

Prospective authors are invited to contribute by submitting a paper in English of no more than 4 pages, including illustrations, results and references. Submissions should be formatted in accordance with IEEE guidelines. All the papers will undergo a review process and will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. Accepted papers will be considered for appearence in IEEE Xplore.

Important dates

10 October 2014: Submission of full 4 pages paper
15 December 2014: Notification of acceptance
31 January 2015: Submission of camera ready papers
10 February: Early registration deadline

Special sessions

If you want to organize a special session, you should send your proposal to contact@jurse2015.org by August 15, 2014. The proposal should include:

  • session title
  • name, address and affiliations of the session’s organizers (one or two people)
  • list of 5 papers (possibly more for a poster session)
  • list of authors and affiliations
  • a short rationale describing the potential impact of the proposed session.

If the session is accepted, authors will submit their manuscript through the JURSE website and their contributions will be peer reviewed by both the organizers and the technical committee.
